LAS VEGAS THINGS TO DO |
The 'Welcome To Las Vegas' sign now has a convenient car park so it is now easy to take pictures. The sign is on the South of The Strip next to the airport.
While in that area if you continue South you come to the large and impressive shopping Mall.

Of course when you visit Las Vegas you must visit the hotel's, and most of them are huge and can take a few hours getting around. The Venetian is outstanding, Treasure Island has a pirate show, the Bellagio has beautiful water fountains, although most are only active at certain time of the day, so visit the Las Vegas Tourism site www.visitlasvegas.com
Hotel Food Advice
You will find when you arrive at your hotel that you have many extra costs to pay. Food for instance is the main one, and can be expensive in most hotels on The Strip
Fast food chains are reasonably priced but you don't want to use them everyday, so it is best to go a little way off the strip. For Chinese, Buffet Asia & Krazy Buffet are both on Sahara ( taxi ride), and only cost $6.99, and about $10 weekends, and the food is excellent.
Places for breakfast are
IHOP, and you can find various little diners in the phone book which should be in your hotel room. Excalibur usually does a special $25 to cover food for the whole day per person, you can come & go as you please.

Place to Visit
Unlike some cities in the USA, Las Vegas has an excellent bus service, and plenty of taxies are available.
If you have hired a car, a must visit is Red Rock Canyon, a beautiful formation of rocks and colours about 15 miles West of The Strip, and only $5.
Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam are just to the South, and although free, you will have to pay for car parking at the dam.
Other places to visit are the Valley of Fire, and Death Valley. |
